Navigating UC Berkeley is tough! So LBSA wants to introduce you to some helpful resources that you can find on campus; whether it is related to food insecurity, personal health, or any other issue that could potentially arise during your time at UC Berkeley.
With rising living expenses and college fees, many students find themselves choosing between essentials such as food and the costs of college. Below are some free resources to help you access food security efforts.
UC Berkeley Food Pantry
What is it?
The UC Berkeley Food Pantry is a mini grocery store on campus for students to pick up food essentials for FREE. If you are running out of grocery money, this is an incredible resource for you to access food essentials!
Where is it?
#68 MLK Student Union (Basement Floor)
Unfortunately, it's a little tricky to get to the Food Pantry.
Go to the first floor of the Martin Luther King Student Union and look for a set of stairs that takes you down to the basement. Once you're there, the Food Pantry should be to your left!
When is it open?
The Food Pantry is open every day but we recommend going when food is restocked. Check out the restock key below.

How can I apply?
You simply have to submit your CalFresh application and have a quick and simple on-campus informational interview (it's not scary, we promise!)
Where can I find more info?
Visit the Basic Needs Center in the MLK Student Union!
It's next to the Food Pantry, so go to the first floor of the Martin Luther King Student Union and look for a set of stairs that takes you down to the basement.
